In everyday layman terms, weight is either measured in pounds or kilograms.

But in scientific terms, weight is the force exerted by gravity on a body. So it is measured in Newtons which is the unit for force.

And in scientific terms, pound and kilograms are units of mass.

So it depend on whether you are talking in everyday layman terms or in a scientific study.
