I have a problem with my ac and heating system in my bmw....when i turn either of them on ..all i here is a click-click but no air comes out...does anyone know what the problem is??

my father fixes many things in my car pretty well...but this time he wasnt sure what was the actual problem..he wants to try to fix it himself any advice what he should do? and where to start...if anyone knows?? also what parts he needs to buy to do this? thx

it sounds like the fan or the fan relay switch has gone out on it,,that's the clicking sound you here,,i own a repair shop,,and i have seen a few BMW,s do this,,its easy to to repair,,take it to a shop,,and they can do it in a few minutes,,it don't cost that much to have done,,usually around 75-125 bucks for everything,parts and labor,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

These a/c and the heaters are driven be the engine through a belt. If the tension on the belt is too less the system does not work due to slip.

with car on and your blower speed control switch is moved towards the max setting and no air flow is coming out you'll need a blower resistor(final stage). common problem with that model. it's located under passenger side of dash and center console area, not hard to install or dealer can do with ease.

I have a 1987 420 sel The ac turns on no unusual noises but the air is hot. It has fluid. What do you think it is?

What year and model do you have? Latter cars have control units that could cause your problem. Also the blower motor could be bad as well as resisters on earlier models.

it seems that the fan sensor is not functoining very well .try to clean it by a usual cleaner .
