i'm scared i'm going to have my period at school. i use pads and my next period (which i was supposed to start this weekend) i want to start using tampons. the reason is because at school i don't carry a purse, i carry a big bag that has all of my binders and books in it. I can't take the WHOLE bag to the bathroom during class, and it's impossable to go to the bathroom during the passing periods without being late to my next class. if i have tampons then i can slip one out of my bag and take it to the bathroom... since pads are bigger it wouldn't work without everyone seeing. but i haven't started using tampons yet...so i'm scared if i start during school i have to use a pad and change it during school. i was suppposed to start this weekend. does anyone have some good advice for my situation?

i can't carry a purse because the big bag is heavy enough, and carrying another bag would look weird. and the school is so big it would take 5 minutes to get to my locker, 5 minutes in the bathroom, and five minutes to get back. it's a very big school. thank you for the answers so far

Keep them in a small pouch that looks like a make-up bag and if you have to go during class, take only that with you- all the guys will just think you're doing the typical girl thing and doing your makeup and all the girls won't care because they have to deal with it too.
Either that or just suck it up and get a purse- nobody's going to wonder why you're taking your purse to the bathroom... you wouldn't want to leave it unattended!

OMG im so glad i havent started my peroid yet but u sure keep me scared of it serouisly thogh i think even though i dont have any expereicnce with that thing it would be sooooo embarring to start in skool escpecially being new to tampons so i think you should just carry a purse around with u alllllllll the time and take it with u everywhere like its ur cellphone or somethin and like ucant survive without it by ur side and just go ask your teacher if you can use the bathroom during class and get a hall pass and if she says no then give her the look like imm gonna pee on myself if u dont let me go right now and say i have to go realllllllllllllly badly
and if its still no then just leave and if ur mom or dad ask just tell them that u reallly had to go and the teacher waas being a butt

I would start learning how to use tampons asap if I were you. You can learn from the directions on the box. My daughter who is 13 learned on her own and very easily too . But if you have started or think you are going to wear a pad and put one in your locker at school that way you can sneak out and get it when everyone is in class . (I've been doing this all week) Put on a pad in the morning and if you're comfortable with it, carry a tampon and panty liner. If you start your period and the pad gets drenched or w/e, you can just put in the tampon. *bring the directions with you!* Maybe if you don't want to start on tampons yet, you should start carrying a small purse.

The best advice I can give is when first starting with tampons, choose one that says junior size or slender size, and the directions u get with the products will show you in detil how to use. Also I would suggest using a panty liner or mini pad also while using tampoms to avoid the embarrasment of leaks.

The tampon should fit in your pocket, or you can just put them, in ur big bag, and slip one out when you have to use the bathroom. You change it every 4-6 hours depending on your flow, so you should be okay to use them during skool. When you gotta go, ya gotta go, and so what if sumone sees it, that just shows that ur maturing quicker than most people. You should be proud about it not shy. Good Luck!

ok, just keep a pad on all day long starting now, and don't worry about it , oh and wear dark colored pants. Dont let your peiod be in the way of your life!!

try using a tmapon at home. if i works on you, bring it to school, if it dosen't use a pad
