I feel real shocked and sad about what happened to Steve Irwin today. I also feel a little bad for stingrays in general now, who will most likely get an undeserved bad rap, especially with kids, about being killer monsters. From what I know, he jumped on a stingray's back, and the stingray was only using it's defensive mechanism and caught Irwin at a very unlucky and unlikely spot. Just sad situation altogether and my condolenses to him, he was so full of life. R.I.P. Steve Irwin

I feel sorry for his family, yes. I do, however, feel more sorry for all the poor animals he needlessly taunted and tied and muzzled. That's just my opinion, sorry.

From what is being reported on CNN and FoxNews, he was swimming above the stingray and was stung. A reporter from Australia said that the incident was caught on film, and Steve Irwin pulled the stinger from his chest. Shortly after that was when he lost consciousness. It bears the question, if Steve Irwin had left the stinger in his chest, would he have lived? Steve was awesome; he loved what he did and he died doing what he loved. That is so rare, and he was blessed to be able to pursue his passion in life.

Steve Irwin had a passion for what he did that the audience picked up on. I think that's what made him so popular.

Sad that he died, but hundreds of times he was so calling for it. If I'm messing with a dog and it bites me are you gonna cry? If I'm running in front of an arab army and I get shot, are you gonna cry? If I'm eating 30 lbs of sugar everyday and I get diabetes are you gonna cry? or just call me a dumb-*** everytime I do something stupid and maybe save my life? Seems like nobody told him he was a dick for messing with animals and he got what he wanted. The stingray was just defending itself. Shame on him and the Animal Planet/ Discovery Chanel for showing kids and people in general that you can get away with fu*king with animals and their habitats.
