Take one of your spark plugs out, then plug it back into the wire and lay it up against the block. Have someone try to start it. Look for a spark at the tip of the plug. If no spark, you have a bad ignition module in the dist cap or a bad coil. If this does not work, take off the dist cap and have someone try to start it and make sure that the rotor button is turning, if not, you may have a broken dist. Next to make sure that it has not jumped time, take out the #1 spark plug. Place your thumb over the spark plug hole and have someone bump the starter (with the key). When your thumb gets blown off of the hole (it will not hurt), you are at top dead center (TDC). then take off the dist cap and see if the rotor button is pointing towards the #1 spark plug wire on the dist cap. (just raise it and check) If it is not close you possibly need a new timing chain and gears.

Start by checking the wire that runs from the coil to the center of the distributor cap. Hold it close to some metal, like a bracket that's bolted to the enginee (ground) Then have someone turn the engin over and see if there is a spark.

Number 1---that thing you poured gas into isn't a carburetor; it is throttle body fuel injection.
If you aren't getting spark, then you have most likely a failed ignition module. it is inside the distributor, beneath the rotor on the breaker plate.
First things first. Check the PCM for codes. THEN address the correct diagnostic and repair procedures.
For information concerning the codes, go here---->
