When my friend sends me an IM , he doesnt recieve one back from me, even though I send one to him. It says we are using different versions of yahoo, but how do I install the same one he has? Why cant different versions work together?

I don't know where to find the old versions, but you should ask your friend to download the new Messenger. You also have to get the new Messenger. Now you both have the same Messenger. If you don't know how, go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/. I believe that different versions don't work because things are old and don't have certain accesses. Does your friend have a newer version than you? If they do, then I should be right. I hope this helps you.

Just make sure you both have the same yahoo versions available and not using two different versions as they can cause audio and internet disconnection problems.

The easiest way to make sure you both have the same version is simply to both go to the Yahoo Messenger download page, download it and install it. You'll both have the latest version.

you cant really do anything but the kind of im you friend has you can try to get the same as him. i think it would be alot easier
