First, immediately after you get a hickey apply a cold compress such as an ice pack like you would for a bruise. This slows the leaking of blood from the broken vessels and limits the size of the hickey. However, by the time you really notice the mark, it’s probably too late for this treatment. After the first 24 hours, use heat to hasten the reabsorption of blood by the body. (Looking to see if the doctor is around…ok coast is clear…traditional medicine and herbal remedies don’t always mix!) If you want to try herbal remedies, you might consider arnica montana, a gel used to help in the healing process. Another herbal remedy is comfrey. Be careful, though, because comfrey can be toxic to the liver. Because of this, we don’t recommend using Comfrey. But, this is no guarantee that the hickey will go away faster. If you want to hide the hickey, wear turtle-neck shirts use make-up to cover the mark.

Hikey are just pools of blood collected under the skin. In the 70's they said to rub it with the back of a spoon to help the body absorb, the blood in faster. I heard once using toothpaste, I can't see how the chemicals in that would help. But rubbing does help the blood circulate back into the bloodstream. But hard rubbing can make it worse. By causing a red mark or skin irritation. Also concealer does help camouflage it

Put a spoon in the freezer, let it get really cold, then, hold it on the hickey for as long as you can stand it......poof......it will be less noticeable by morning! Good Luck! :)

toothpaste - helps to reduce the bruising...

Also use a green concealer - takes out the redness, followed by skin colour concealer, before applying make-up

A turtle-neck jumper or scarf also help!!

I recommend not getting them but if you really can't contain yourself...concealer can cover anything....yellow and green based but only if you have white skin....blue based if you are tanned or darker.
