I do. I'm white and I wish I had more friends who are black. They seem so down to earth and genuine. I do find it hard to get close them though. Lots of racial tensions still going on in this country.

You shouldn't pick your friends because of race, but because of how they behave as human beings. If a person is unapproachable whether they are white, black, asian, or hispanic, etc. you shouldn't want to be around someone who is not comfortable being around you or vice versa. Choose your friends by the content of their character and not how cool you think they are. There are many black who aren't great, but they are a lot who would love to have the frienship of a kind and lovable person.

Jester really isn't funny. I feel sorry for people like that.

I don't think most whites in general care much one way or the other, any more than we pay much attention to whites we don't really know personally. And that is really good. We really should not pay much more attention to blacks we don't know than to whites we don't know.

To add to non-Jester's comment, I suppose I would be a Mexican lover, since I have been married to a Mexican woman for 31+ years. Hee, hee. And, were it not for my faithful nature, I can tell you there are a lot of beautiful babes in Mexico I would love to love. YeeeHaaa!!

My wife's best friend is a 91 year old black woman, a real lady of the old school. Because of that friendship, and the fact that the old lady essentially serves as my mother-in-law, I am from time to time at a social event where a hall is full of people, example a wedding, and the bride and I are the only whites there. It is kind of neat, but there is at times a lot of racial hostility from a very few of the blacks.

The lady had men friends from her youth, and after her second husband (both died) they would come around and visit her. I had some really good chats with them, and they would tell what their life was like, and how they managed to feed their families before the Civil Rights movement of the 60's. I can tell you that was fascinating, and I guarantee with your positive attitude, you would have hung on every word as I did.

that was a contradicting statement. Do most white people like blacks? then saying that lots of racial tensions still going on in this country. If that was the case then whites would not blacks and vice versa. Think about it man

I think that is just as racist a statement as saying they're all stupid or something. Not all Blacks are "down to earth and genuine." You need to like or not like a person because of the PERSON not some preconceived notion of how they should be good or bad. Seeking out Blacks to be friends with just because they're Black is racist because you are not considering the people as who they are but you're considering their race.

I'm white, and I like INDIVIDUAL black people and don't like other INDIVIDUAL black people. Nobody should generalize about such a large group of people. It's the same as with white people - I don't want people to meet a couple of white morons and then say white people are morons!

Why are you hung up on color?
Good people and bad come in all varieties. You assumption of their character is just that - an assumption, and applying assumptions to large groups is risky (eating and breathing excepted).

Individual behaviors and attitudes vary. And are all that really count.

You're white? I never seen a white person in my life, not even albino people are white. Is this natural, or did you bleach your skin? I can see where someone could make their skin black, just take a bath in black ink. If your skin is naturally white, what happens when you breed with someone whose skin is pink or dark brown?
