I am gutted ... Steve will always be a true Australian Hero in my books. Yes he was 'out there' however he did more good for Australian Tourism, and educating everyone about wildlife (both native Australian and international) not to mention his great work with the Quarantine Department .. than a million shrimps on the BBQ.
Steve .. YOU ROCK!!

The whole world is a little shocked by his death. It is the lead story on every channel here in New Orleans. I really feel for his wife and kids.
It was a bit freakish that a stingray did him in, when he dealt with so many more dangerous critters.

Yes, he was great and he will be missed. I loved watching him and his family and how they grew. I loved the fact that my children watched him and learned a lot from him. He loved what he did and was great hero for the animals and for the environment. He was also great for everyone who wondered 'what will he do next?' My condolences go out to his family and to the people who loved to watch him do what he does best. RIP Steve.
