Try wiping the print head of the cartridge with a warm wet cotton cloth unil it starts leaving a black spot when you press cloth to bottom of it

Lexmark make notorious horrible cartridges. TO free up the blocking forget about wiping and go straight to soaking the print head in blue window cleaner. Do this until you start to see ink flow from the bottom of the cartridge, or 10 minutes, which ever comes first.
Pat the cartridge dry re-install and run a print head cleaning. Run a print head cleaning in the future every 2-3 weeks as a preventative measure.

Unfortunately, Lexmark customers have all types of problems with their ink and ink cartridges. Really, I would recommend going for a more reliable HP printer (JD Power and Associates award for reliability and PC Magazine's Reader's Choice for reliability for 14 years in a row and still going). HP cartridges are much more reliable than the Lexmark brands.

Not permanently, ink jets have this issue as a machine gets old, although Lexmark is notorius of having this issue as a machine fresh out shrink wrap.
Each printer has a cleaning feature, always, pretend the black cartridge was anew and run its own ink-swap utility.

How often do you use the printer? maybe the ink is drying between usage. Are the contacts clean?..at the back of the cart/printer carriage. But, hey, the (use your own derogatory adjective) thing is only 2 months old. Surely, you have a Sale Of Goods Act (or similar) the printer is "not fit for purpose". Believe you have the 'lemon laws'.... return it, get a real printer
