Well to get sponsors you have to win races. It takes alot of your own cash to start and then win a few and you start off small and work your way up to larger and larger sponsors. As for racing divisions I guess that all depends on what you are racing.

depends who you ask go to an NHRA event they will say they are the best. go to an IHRA event they say they are the best. but from the quality of racing i have seen out of both i would have to say that th NHRA is the better series. and to get big sponsors you generally have got to show that you can give the big boys a run for the wins. if you see some young kid challenging the top guys and you see some veteran that is running midpack to the back which would you sponsor. now this is what will help you. the more time a car gets on tv means more exposure for the sponsor.

Top fuel and funny cars are generally considered to be the big-time. In the next rank down there is pro-stock which depends on having good sponsors. After that; there are guys who have some good sponsors and some good luck, or people with deep pockets.
