Maybe because more flavoring powder will get stuck between the ridges so taste will be stronger. I agree with you though. Ridges alone will not more flavor make!

Umm.. I think the Ruffles have Ridges isn't supposed to mean that they have more flavor...
your supposed to roll your tongue on all the "R"'s... its from a commercial from a long time ago. Its just the advertisment slogan.... like the Budweiser frogs from like 5-10 years ago.

but you know what...they don't hurt my mouth as much...when i eat regular chips, they cut up my mouth...so i actually like ridges...but that's just me
