Yes, and I am 60+ years and make no apology for it. I would rather go through life being the screwee than the screwor!!!!!
Besides, when you get too cautious and don't trust, you sure miss out on a lot of fun in life....

I can be, but generally speaking, I'm pretty smart....

However, I trust people too much, which can make me naive in certain situations.

I think we are when were younger, and the older we get, the less we trust people, and we are more aware of what could happen, and were more careful.
