Yes, it's terribly sad! I'll miss his energy and enthusiasm! I'm sorry that his little children won't have the opportunity to grow up with someone whom I think would have been a wonderful dad and role model for them. :-(

Absolutely. It is a very sad day for Australia & the world for that matter. He was so passionate with animals and understood them like no-one else. It's just a case of bad luck, a freak accident! Even humans will try to defend themselves if they feel threatened and sometimes they even kill unnecessarily. Steve Irwins spirit will remain in my heart forever.

I will miss him also however his arrogance is what killed him and being that Australia depended upon him and his families zoo and his family depended upon him so much, he should have been a little more careful - his legacy will die out now since there is no one else like him and he leaves a sad wife and two fatherless children - what a shame and what a loss - a stupid loss -
I wish he had been more careful and protected himself - he had much work to do in this life and now we all suffer the loss especially his family and his zoo.

Yep, we'll all miss him. He knew what may happen, just thought he'd reduced the risk to the point he'd not be killed. Even this one was a freak accident. It really shouldn't have happened, but did. I feel sorry for his wife and kids. They must be going through a lot of pain right now.

It's soo sad, but I don't think he would of had it any other way. He was a one of a kind who loved animals. He made an impression on everyone in the entire world. He will be missed, but I don't think who could have died of old age. He went out according to his way of life. I hope his children will follow in his footsteps.

Sad no, just surprised how he died. Remember his advertisement a couple years ago, when the snake bit him and he keeled over dead? I always thought that was going to be his way out. Play with fire, eventually you WILL get burned.
And his wife will continue his crusade for animal rights!!!

VERY! I have thought about it of and on all day. It is so sad. Little kids will even be saddened. It is such a bizarre accident too. Stingrays don't usually kill anybody.

Very sad. He was a wonderful educator. Far too young to go. I'll miss him for a long time.

Well I'm going to start watching out for butterflies! I figured he'd get himself killed one day but not by a fish that my daughter and I have stroked at our local aquarium in an open tank!
