My daughters dwarf hampster escaped the cage. Any suggestions on finding the little critter?

look behind the fridge, they are often there - dont move it though because u could squish him. also check the stove. have some broccoli or other fresh food with u to lure him in case he's there. put a bucket out with books or something leading up to it so he can crawl to the edge. make a trail of food on the books, just a tiny bit, leading up the books and then put broccoli (no water) in the bottom of the bucket he'll fall in and be trapped and waiting for u. a small trash can or anything not too tall with smooth sides works. since u r home u make sure his cage is on the floor open and he may sneak in for food and u can catch him. if u see him but cant grab him u might put a trash can or something like that in front of him so he'll run in it or his ball if u have one. he'll come out at night hungry if u dont find him today. look & listen for him. careful of doors and make sure there's no way outside--like where the washer or sink is. how did he get out? u will want to address that once u find him.

can put a small amount of food in each room to locate him & then close off that room. look around stuffed animals & anywhere warm & cozy.

Follow the wall line. Hamsters, mice, and rats when escaped will follow along the corner of the wall. I had one escape and ended up in a closet - then chewed a hole in the wall and lived in the wall for 6 months before we finally caught him.

Put out a dish of food and a waterbottle along the wall.

If you dont have other pets to disturb things, put a few tubes and a bed area along the wall near the food. Sometimes they'll naturally go to their bed if they just need to tunnel a little to it :)

Put some tissue in an up-side-down tissue box and some critter niblets. It'll get hungry and need a place to sleep.

Or... borrow a cat. But ya gotta get there before the cat does!

nicely, did you lose her interior or exterior? If interior, isolate the room the place she grew to become into and seem decrease than each thing you may. attempt luring her lower back to her cage with nutrition. seem in each corner and cranny! I lost my hamster and he grew to become into in a corner that we did no longer even think of he could slot in (and he's a dwarf!) wish you detect your hamster. Oh and once you're telling human beings you lost her say, "I lost my hamster named Virginity" Then they in all possibility shouldn't hit you...

make sure you close all the doors to keep it in one room. then put out some food for it. at night time you will be able to hear it roaming around.

This worked for me.
Buy a non-toxic glue trap and put peanut butter on it.
You have to clean it, but you will catch it.
