One thing beside the theme parks? Ride the Sky Coaster at Old Town for a big thrill.
Here are a few more ideas:
- golf
- shop (at Downtown Disney, Orlando Premium Outlets, Mall at Millenia)
- see Cirque du Soleil show
- go on an airboat tour at Boggy Creek Airboat Rides
- visit town of Celebration

Watch out for the suggestions about the beach! Orlando is in the center of the state, so you'll have to leave the city to see a beach. The nearest ones are about 2 hours to the east in Daytona or 3 hours west in Tampa. Tampa is gorgeous!
Other than that, there isn't really much to do in Orlando. For a while they had a neat downtown, but that's kind of died out. Have fun, though, and enjoy the theme parks.

I lived in Orlando and the beaches are not 2-3 hours away. More like 45 minutes to Cocoa Beach where the space shuttle lands. I use to like to do the tourist things like the theme parks, seaworld, and the beach when I lived there. I would also suggest the dinner theatres. Medieval Times, Sleuths, and Arabian Knights are the best. When I lived in Orlando and was broke I would go to the tourist spots like the theme parks and walk around watching the tourist. BELIEVE ME YOU SEE INTERESTING PEOPLE!!
I would also check out international drive where there are tons of restaurants, malls, mini golf, tourist attractions, and interesting people. Both Disney and Universal have their own movie theatres, shops, bars/clubs and areas where you can walk around without paying anything and meet people.
The things I mentioned probably don't sound very exciting, but trust me when you are with other people it can be very fun.

Man are you getting crummy answers. there are no beaches within an hour of Orlando and Lakeland is not 20-30 minutes away. Try an hour and there are more lakes in Orlando than in Lakeland. Church St. bit the dust years ago. There are fantastic golf courses at cheap prices, good bars on I-Drive and in Winter Park, but quite frankly not much else to do. Disney made the town.

I personally LOVE 'Fantasy of Flight'.It is west of Orlando ( 30 mins or less) Take I-4 towards Tampa (away from Orlando) It is located in Haines City. They have a great selection of WWII aircraft! They also have a hot air baloon ride.Warning,It is pretty expensive there.I've been there 3 times. It is completely different from any other "attraction" in Orlando.
Also, THE COOLEST thing you can do (And THE most $) is to go to 'Richard Pettys driving experience. They have several 'packages' you can choose from. The $'s are in the 100's of $'s so SAVE your dinero. You can choose to do a ride along or go all the way to a full day class and actually DRIVE YOURSELF! (with an instructor in the passenger seat)

Go to Downtown Disney! (You better be going to Walt Disney World!) You can do some last minute shopping. There's all kinds of shops! You can go see a movie at the AMC 24-Theatre Complex. It's a really nice theater. If you have time and money, I'd suggest going to see Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba, on the West Side of Downtown Disney. It's such an incredible show, and it plays twice a day, but only on some days of the week (Tuesday to Saturday, I think.) Or, you could always go to DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park. There's a lot to do at Downtown Disney, a lot of great restaurants, and plenty of places to shop. And don't worry, they're not all Disney-themed.
Have fun on your trip to Orlando!

Kick Mickey in the nuts.
I hate Orlando. This place sucks. There's nothing to do for the people that live here full time. I'm not a college kid that goes downtown to the bars and gets drunk on Friday nights. I'm not a fashionista mall rat who hangs out at Millenia Mall looking for the hot guys to pass me by. Chances are if they hang out at Millenia, they aren't interested in what I have to offer- catch my drift? I use to like theme parks until I have to encounter all the damn tourist. I can't tell you the last time I've met someone who actually was born and raised here. No one, including myself, is from here.
I'm here for grad school and that's it. After May, who knows if I'll ever return.

Try visiting the lakes near downtown Lakeland. I reccoment Lake Morton. Its a nice lake to walk around, and they are swans and other birds everywhere.
Also, there are some theatres and a very nice art museum in Lakeland too. And, its only like a 20-30 minute drive from Orlando.

to respond to your first question The shot Fish hit left time on the clock, he made the shot and theres no longer something they could have executed. in the event that they referred to as an off ball foul after he made t he shot it could have been a prior due call hence a NO call. 2ndly It became Orlando's 37 loose throws to the lakers 18. Howard took 14, Turk took 13 and Pietrus took 7 (another human beings took freethrows yet purely like a million or 2). Turk not often ever gets that many freethrows and howard does. So your element is invalid because of the fact howard have been given the comparable quantity of freethrows he in many cases does...he merely didnt cause them to. The refs have been calling ***** fouls on the lakers and that they have been calling ***** fouls on the magic...merely no longer as many. in case you rather need to get into it, definite kobe threw that elbow and have been given away with it yet while the refs didnt see it they are in a position to't call it. on the top of the day the interest became no longer on the refs yet on the gamers themselves. If dwight had made those 8 loose throws and if hedo had referred to as a 2nd day out somewhat of starting to be that terrible play in direction of the top of the 4th we ought to ascertain a thoroughly distinctive result. If it became as much as me identity enforce a undertaking gadget like there is in soccer the place performs could be reviewed. David Stern mentioned he likes this theory besides the indisputable fact that it ought to decelerate play so so as to undertaking the complicated team woudl the two could use considered one of their time outs or have a collection style of annoying situations they are in a position to apply.
