before you call me a biggot or racist view the data below
the following link will verify my question

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0931045.html

Here is some statistical data you might find interesting
this data is according to the justice department.
it can also be found on the above website.

"About 10.4% of the entire African-American male population in the United States aged 25 to 29 was incarcerated, by far the largest racial or ethnic group—by comparison, 2.4% of Hispanic men and 1.2% of white men in that same age group were incarcerated. According to a report by the Justice Policy Institute in 2002, the number of black men in prison has grown to five times the rate it was twenty years ago. Today, more African-American men are in jail than in college. In 2000 there were 791,600 black men in prison and 603,032 enrolled in college. In 1980, there were 143,000 black men in prison and 463,700 enrolled in college."

I want to add more but i am out of characters to work with

what could be the cause?

it can't be discrimantion,as far as hiring practices go, it just doen't happen that much anymore.

african americans have college funds set aside for underprivledged youths, and there are many many community outreach programs even in small cities.

any local church will help a person with; fod, clothing and shelter if they only ask.

so why all the crime? and why are they violent ones more often than not.

please provide some insight, i just do not understand.

and i know someone has to be the proverbial "leader of the pack" but these number are just too high

as a sidebar, i noticed there is alot of "feel sorry for me" attitude in this country, amongst all races and sexes.

i have also noticed older african americans have less trouble than younger ones(8-35) and the older ones have dealt with much more racism.

Well you gotta look at the data and look at the History WE have had in this country! What people don't realize is that most of African Americans in this country are suffering from a slave mentality! It has been passed down from generation to generation! How would it feel to anyone to be taken, raped, sold, breed and worked for 400+ years and told your free after all of that trauma with no Psychiatric help at all! I guess it's an excuse but it's an answer to the question about Why most or some Blacks do and act the way they do! What people don't realize is that a little apologie doesn't make up for 400+ years of enslavement! If anything they are angry about something! They need help and sometimes they don't know how to get it! They might see a better way but they may not think it's the way for them!

i think b's wifey has a good point in that a lot of african-americans (not all) are pissed off about the whole slavery thing, which could have a lot to do with it. they could also be pissed off because their grandparents or even parents were forced to ride in the back of busses, and had to use seperate entrances, etc. i think that may be part of the problem. poverty is another problem that is rampant among blacks, which i think somehow also ties in with the whole "pissed off" idea. the real problem is that a lot of these people just cant move on. sure maybe a short little apology isnt enough to right all the wrongs that were made against them, i agree, but it was a step in the right direction. nothing anyone can do today will erase what happened yesterday, no matter how much we want to. the majority of white people in this country today had absolutely nothing to do with slavery, and we have nothing to do with their poverty, yet they find it necessary to keep blaming us for their problems, even though slavery doe not affect these people. you cant undo the past, so you have to move into the future with a new attitude. my opinion is a lot of people use it as an excuse. if they are having a bad hair day, its cuz they are black. if they are turned down for a job interview, its cuz they're black. if they kill someone or deal drugs, and get caught, its cuz they're black. enough already. im not saying racism doesnt exist, cuz it obviously does, but not as much as many african-americans think it does. im just tired of hearing it. african-americans get a lot of breask too that whit people don't get. like specially funded goernment programs, all-black colleges, special foundations. doesnt that mean that blacks are being racist against whites? "no, your white, you can't enroll here"."no im sorry, you must be african american to qualify for this low-income program". it really goes both ways ya know?

i look at it this way. not every door opens 2 us as fast as it opens 4 white folks. and money is an issue 2 most ppl. racism has decreased a lot where i come from. but in some places it's still very high. and that gives problems... i am willing 2 go the whole 10 yards 2 get what i want. some of us, won't. and there is where the problem occurs. when it's judgment time, we get harder punishments then the white folks... i have no probs with the white until i see racism around me. and that really get me mad... why should there be a difference of action 2wards a colour (namely black) and not the others? let's take an example. Holland. they want to kick the ppl of Netherlands Antilles out. becoz they say we r problem makers. the problem makers r the dutch folks, spanish and arabs. an arab killed some1 in a fight, he gets community service. He KILLED SOME1!!!! a black man robs gasoline gets 10 months. what has more value?? gas or a persons life???

I do think that your additional details are wrong but I will address those in a minute. If this data is correct and for this purpose I will assume that it is, it points out that there is a high conviction rate of Black men and White women is it due to discrimination (don't pretend you don't know) but it is an interesting point isn't it. As for your details, don't assume that money is available for everyone its not.

It is not that they commit more crime so much as they get penalized way stiffer than whites. If you really look at the facts of American history towards blacks, we have never stopped screwing them in one way or another. It goes way beyond slavery. One example is after WWII the white men came back and got great mortgages for houses in the suburbs while the black men who fought were relegated to urban areas. That is one tiny example of 200+ years of effing them. Then we blame them for what we have done to them. I am white and it pisses me off, I can't imagine how pissed I would be if I was black.

Wow no black men commenting on this yet. It looks like (from the avatars/pics) that the only blacks commenting on this (and i must say in an intellectual manner) is women. This really says allot to me.

because of slavery, the black population was stuck in a crappy economic situation, aka poverty. Poverty breeds desperation. Desperation leads to crime. I bet the middle class and upper class blacks dont commit crimes at a higher rate. Read between the lines. Its poverty not blacks. (and no, i dont think you as a racist). They have slowly been improving, but it is very hard to, so we have yet to see this cycle end. Only time will tell.

I feel that they are always trying to belittle their race....I work at a club and if I see one black person trying not to push exctacy or coke... or other type of drug it gets really old. I you are black you need to start talking to your society and tell them to stop dumming you all down. and get some pants that fit
