Because the women let them get away with it.
I was at a club and this song came on "move biatch get out the way get out the way" and all the girls in the club were all singing it.
so of course I picked the easiest one and took her home!
She of course turned out to be a man. so I guess this makes no since.
Maybe the rappers have small wieners and they sing that way to make them feel better about themselves.

Because that is what rap is. Rap has always been rude to women and will always be rude to women. It's a fact of life.

Why can people not get over this? Imus was on a basic cable news program in the morning where he hosts politicians, gives social commentary, and attempts to have high minded political discussion. Ludacris is a pure entertainer, not to be taken in anyway serious, and most of his songs are so cut up on the free radio waves that you have to practically make half of it up yourself. These two are apples and oranges, and everyone knows it. The people who keep going on about this just want to be able to holler the "N-word" themselves or degrade a group of accomplished, mostly black women without getting injured. It's not going to happen now or ever, especially with all the new dialogue about rap music and it's lyrics in the Black community. Instead of proving a point, people who reach back and grab music from "parental advisory" albums and try to compare it to a show on MSNBC have done nothing but create a discourse on this type of music which will ENSURE that they will not be able to use this type of speech. And it wasn't all some form of pressure from 12% of the country. Whites all over were outraged too. And just as Ludacris lost Pepsi because of his speech, Imus lost his sponsers over his. I actually think that shows that the decision was fair. No family company wants to be associated with that, no matter who says it.

Rap started as a form of self-expression. These people are tired of living their lives in the ghetto and being hungry and oppressed by the rich. Soon, their self-expression mode made them rich and they decided that they should use their current stature to oppress others. Since most of them are men, the number one priority is to objectify women.

The saddest part is that, some women are comfortable being called bitches or whores. They thought it's the 'IN' thing. It's actually worse than being an object by men.

Most rap songs are disrespectful to women because most of the artists, not all but, most of them don't see the value of women as they should be. Many men see women as conquests. If the man(if you want to call him that) can sweet-talk(lie) the women into bed with him, he won. The woman is another notch in his belt. It's incredibly sad and actually disturbing. The genre simply reflects the mindset of many males. The more girls, the better. Men sit around and joke about how many women they've had sex with. They do this often. Regarding men, its the quantity of women not quality.

Because most mainstreams rap is like that.... and people support that. Since all those songs u talking about r wit a beat that people can probably dance wit, thats y its more "sellable" but if i dig in more inside into the undergroupd hip hop, ull find more stuff, where guys even talk about respecting women.... i recomend u to download Description of a Fool, by A Tribe Called Quest. it might show u wat i mean... maybe its less danceable, but it has a better message than the crap u listen to on the radio....

Im not prejudice at all. I just dont understand why it is considered cool to be a thug. Not all black people are like that and I really want to stress that I am not trying to dis a race. When you go into a poorer black community the adult men seem to think that being rude, violent, and disrespectful is "cool". Therefore the kids in that community adopt that way of thinking. And it is only put into their heads further by rappers praising it.

Most rap stars, and their listeners, generally have low self-esteem and need to feel superior about something. That is why they insult women, show off the “bling”, and pretend to be all tough. Really, they all need to learn how to be men and stop trying so hard to impress each other with empty words and small, insecure thoughts.

It's mainly because the people quoting them are rude and vuglar to women, and have no respect for women or themselves.
They have attracted a following among(mostly young blacks looking for anything different) among the young, uneducated, and the drug scene, and play it it it's fullest.
Most rappers look only to the money not the work
they are not artist, but noise makers

It is due to insecurities and it's what sells. Men that are insecure attempt to cover it by degrading women. By doing so, they feel less insecure.
I stopped listening to rap after I matured. There is so much more to life than chasing women & money.
