I think they should get some sort of stipend when they are there. Nothing too big, but enough to let them live comfortably, and possibly avoid a bad situation like accepting $ from boosters. It's a sticky situation though. How would you determine who gets what? Do you base it on income? Do football players (highest income sport) get more than baseball players? Do stars get more than benchwarmers? NCAA doesn't have an answer, so they'll just keep the money for themselves. They are definitely a money hungry monopoly. How else would you explain the college bowl / BCS system?

that's a ordinary question. the common answer is definite. even even with the undeniable fact that some get carry of an entire experience, which ability training, books, room and board they are no longer getting any spending money so except their mothers and dads supply them an allowance they are in a position to no longer go out for a pizza and cokes. they are no longer allowed to paintings for the duration of their season, purely contained in the off season and have greater than a number of responsibilities to the college and team outdoors accepted prepare and interest cases. college activities is a specialist interest, the shoe companies, Nike specifically, supply the faculties tens of millions to placed on their products, and the gate and money from alumni brings in greater. while the soccer coach of a significant college makes many cases over what the college president makes there is not any doubt as to whom is greater significant to the college. a good soccer application money all the non sales activities courses and has money left over. no longer permitting the athletes to make money encourages corruption.

In a sense, they are. An athlete playing on a scholarship at some universities (Northwestern, for example) is in effect being paid $25, 000.00 and up in tuition alone. Add in room and board, books, etc., this goes up another $3,000.00 or more. This is on top of the "jobs" that are arranged for which they do little or no work and whatever they are getting under the table from wealthy alumni.
