i dont mean to say to change a person to make that person BE like how you want them to be, but changing them for the good of themselves, meaning, following the morals of life, the good points to know a live life...can a person every change for that reason?

i can say, im already convinced that it is possible, but i just want to know if there is any better, reasonable answer that would go against it.

please give reasonable answers. thanks.

You are really asking 2 questions here. (1) You seem to be asking if a person can change for the better. Your answerers have already answered that question pretty well & I agree with them. (2) You asked in this question if a person can ONLY change for the better, cuz you used the word BUT and capitalized it. For this question I would say that a person can change for the worse, too. They can regress & go backwards. For example if they become very negative and hateful because of something that happened to them they can continually dwell on this negative stuff and create an attitude of hate, anger and violence. (If enough people do this and a leader plays upon their storehouse of negativity, he can organize them into a war machine. Then we have wars.) I went backwards in at least one of my past lives but then I turned around and went forward (and up) again. You always have the possibility of regenerating yourself if you decide you want to. Everything everybody said can be summed up in the general principle of karma that whatever you do will come back to you, 'good' or 'bad/' A corollary of this principle is that nothing can happen to you that you haven't opened yourself up to in some way. Of course none of us remember what we did to make ourselves vulnerable to something bad that happened to us. Because of all this I always try to be positive and remember to NEVER STOP LOVING. If you stop loving you're going to go backwards. You can try to play the goddess of justice and think you are justified in believing that that person 'shouldn't have done that to you. Had no right to do that to you.' but you really don't know enough to make a judgment like that. Once I punched out two guys on a London bus cuz they wouldn't pay their fare (if you don't pay your fare on a London bus the conductor just stops the bus and it sits there. I waited 20 minutes for these tough guys to pay their fare and then I lost patience cuz I wanted to get home - it was late at night). But my response was the wrong response, karmawise. Now I've got a negative fighting response on my record and it will come back to me eventually. But if you keep on understanding and raising your consciousness more and more, when your karma comes back to you it won't be so bad cuz you have made yourself so strong.
So here's a lot for you to think about.

Yeah, I can give you many such example. A friend who was lost in life, like yourself now, finally found God. He's very happy with who he is now. He was very depressed. Quite a few people changed, people at work, after they got married and had children. They found themselves having a sense of responsibility.

yeah i am living proof, i had to make and follow through on my own concious decision to better myself....that includes accepting that some people are unwilling or even unable to evolve in such a manner....you and i are some of the lucky ones.

Absolutely we are always changing and hopefully for the better. I am not who I was 10 years ago.
