Back in the late 60s/early 70s, the fastest street legal production cars were the ZL1 Corvette, the L88 Corvette, and the ZL1 Camaro.
Jim Johnston, 1969 L88 427 Corvette, 11.58@121 Factory Stock
Peter Simpson, 1969 Zl1 427 Camaro, 11.75@117 Factory Stock
The current rules prohibit the ZL1 Corvette from racing Factory Stock, but given that the motor weighs about 250 pounds less than an L88 with comparable power, it should be just as fast.
The fastest Shelby Cobra I've seen ran a 12.4 in stock trim and the fastest hemi was also in the low 12's.

No...not in a production car, because it's attached to a saggy-sprung 'muscle-car'....
the fastest production car in the world 0-100-0 was the Caterham 7 (also now the oldest production car in the world)...in a time of under 10 seconds.
That time has now been bettered last year by the Noble GTR....
Both cars are from England and can go round corners too!!!
