Iron Fist misues his power and turns red. He is then beat to death by Captian Hero (name maybe incorrect) Now I hear he has returned. Someone please explain how this happened (in detail) Did he die if not where has he been? Did Cage know? Did Misty know?

Iron Fist was secretly ambushed by the H'ylthri, who sent a duplicate, believing itself to be Iron Fist, in his place. As for Chiantang, he too appeared on Earth, where Khan, as Tyrone King, slew him; however, even Khan was unaware of the H'ylthri's substitution. Shortly afterward, the Iron Fist duplicate attempted to heal "Bobby Wright", who was supposedly dying; the attempt seemed successful, but "Wright" suffered a relapse and, as Captain Hero, beat the duplicate to death in a rage.

He was killed by a Yu-Ti when Iron Fist tried to stop K'un-Lun from taking over the world, after he started K'un on that path. But his parents quickly sent him back. His power was later restored to fight Sightshade, one of his enemies.

I think he's taken on the guise of Daredevil now to draw heat off of Matt Murdock.
Not sure though. I don't really follow those books.
