I am saddened and stunned. Conservation issues are near and dear to my heart and I loved the passion and humor Steve Irwin brought to the field. I wish I could attend the funeral, wish I could do something to comfort the family, but I know all I can really do is pray, and it will be a prayer to comfort the family, and to thank God for the short time that wonderful man had to touch so many lives.

i'm going to be user-friendly, I continuously felt that his dying could be on the hands of an animal, yet i presumed it could be from a croc, relatively than a stingray. besides the undeniable fact that I in no way ever agreed along with his decision to hang his infant son in front of a hungry beast collectively with a crocodile, yet Steve Irwin did plenty for animals from each little thing of this worldwide. He did his appropriate to assist animals in choose of counsel. He made us conscious of the desires of particular animals. this is this variety of super loss. I watched Animal Planet's tribues to him right this moment. It made me very unhappy. he would be overlooked. i understand that his spouse and his toddlers will save on his legacy.

I am saddened by his death as his work immeasurably raised awareness into wildlife concerns and animal behavior. That being said, his was an incredibly dangerous line of work; wild life is exactly what the term implies...and at times human intrusion into their spaces fails to adequately respect that basic fact. His life, however was well-lived in an endeavor for which he had so much obvious passion. He was truly unique and will be greatly missed.

Hi i think that the whole world is in shock by this. I heard about it yesterday after it happened..Very sad. His family and friends have lost a great Friend, and mentor. Not only was he passionate about animals but his other great love was his family. He was such a proud dad and what a lot of people are forgetting is that not only has Australia and the rest of the world lost a great man, but Steve's kids have lost their dad.

I feel very very sad for his family coz his children are still so young and his wife was so so much in love with him. I do hope they can cope with the loss of a wonderful husband and father.

But I also feel sad that some people on Yahoo just don't seem to share the same level of sympathy as we do. They make fun of him and say he deserves his death! What's this world coming to....morally bankrupt?!

Steve was THE ambassador to the world on behalf of all animals in this world. He will be missed terribly! My prayers go out to his family & friends and everyone who was blessed to have met him. He was truly a hero in the eyes of many! There is no doubt he died doing what he loved; educating the world about animals.

You are right. He can't be replaced. He was a special person who reached both young and old. The animal world has lost one of the nicest people there ever was. My prayers are with the family. I hope they get privacy so they can mourn their loss. He will be missed by a lot of people.

I am so deeply sadden, this man is just irreplaceable. He was passionate, enthusiastic and a wonderful human being. He brought alive what he believed in. He tried to speak for those that couldn't, the animals. Now he is in a better place, but my deepest condolences go to his family they lost a great man, and somebody who love them so, so much.
