Da Vinci Code for PC--how to open the window?

Question

At the window, I'm pressing E repeatedly until it turns green. Then it shows a W below an arrow pointing up, and a picture of the mouse that's all in gold. What do I have to do to get the window open?

Ok I got it now....but if anyone knows how I can fix the graphics, I'd really appreciate it. The characters are all white, and any scenery I'm near whitewashes. Sometimes when I'm fighting, the entire screen goes white. I've tried all of the resolution settings, but that had no effect.

i got some problems with it too so i stopped playing it.
