Gabriel only cost the Patriots a fifth-round draft pick

Raiders were rich at WR position, Moss, Porter, Curry

Probably cause they couldn't get anybody to take TO junior. If Jerry Porter was the player he thinks he is he would be long gone from the Raiders, instead Gabriel became the odd man out. That's gonna hurt before the season's over.

They did get a 5th round pick, the same they used to get him intitially. Gabriel is a second tier receiver that wasn't going to get many balls once Curry is healthy and Porter shuts up. They may even be looking at aquiring another WR and trading Porter. Got to get rid of the deadwood!

The Radiers traded him for an undisclosed 2007 draft pick, they probably traded him because they are pretty deep at wide receiver.

They did it because they are stupid. Sure you have plenty of WRs but why do it for so little? If nothing else you can put him on your practice squad.
