Western Digital and Seagate have new USB drives out that are the size of a passport! I just synchronize my data to them and use that for a back up. Then I have a another directory on the same passport dive. where I actually back up files once a week or so.
The other thing I do, is send my really important files (that are real large, such as templates, excel files or word docs and save them as attachments in on-line mailbox. You have two Gigs, why not use them.

I also put financial data on CDs (yes, CDs -- not DVDs seeing as I have never have to fill one of them up) and put them in the safe. I have to alternating CDs so if one becomes unusable, the other one works. I don't trust my financial data to anything but media like CDs. And non-rewritable ones at that. I just don't want to take the chances with that stuff. You just don't know when The IRS will come calling!

Use the backup utility that comes with windows xp. The backup utility is in the Valueadd file in Win XP. You can back up to DVDs or to an external HDD or to a internal HDD. You can back up just your data files and not the programs.

Norton Ghost is a great utility for backing up your hard drive files. Another is Norton Go Back. Depending on your computer manufacturer (for example HP) there is a program pre-installed on your computer that will do that for you as well. I hope this helps you out.
