Because kids who aren't in band or the arts uncultured. Band students are usually the most capable and intelligent. If you follow their progress into adulthood, the band kids are professionals and successful. The jocks.....if sports was their only talent .....they are probably not college grads.

They know nothing about band, and are untalented and uncultered swines. Though I have noticed at some of the schools in the area i work with, band is becoming mighty popular, and anyone who is anyone is in it. I say good for them, and good for you, that you are in band. You're not a geek!

Its a stereo type that just keeps getting perpetuated from generation to generation. . . how come people think jock's are so special? It's just the way people expect highschool to be.
