It sounds like you may have an opportunity to experiment and develop something on your own since no one seems to have a ready answer. It is possible that there is some obscure reference to some old way of using tomatoe plants as a pest deterrent. A Yahoo search for "organic garden pest control" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 3,110 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, you may get lucky and find the information you seek.

Good luck with your search.

certain the spray mix ought to really help and a complicated spray of basically water from the hose will knock them off too. The little white insects you describe sound like white flies. The white flies larvae can do a good type of damage to tomato flowers. ought to also be aphids same technique to get rid of them they don't fly. also use sticky plant hangers. those are yellow sticky cardboard putting on flowers capture the insects. Or make your own use Vaseline and twist ties to tie on the branches.

its chopped tobacco plant,or take a few cigarettes or the butts and make a 'tea" and a tbsp of dish detergent.in a gallon of water. it needs to be applied after every rain and /or once a week to the top of the leaves and underneath the leaves too. I would also spray around the base of the plant too, to run off anything lurking there.

Tomato plants are a close cousin to nightshade. I can't imagine that the chopped plant is good for anything.

Well, considering that there are grasshoppers and tomato worms on my tomato plants, I seriously DOUBT that just by chopping them finely would keep bugs away! Try cayenne pepper juice. YUMMY!
