April 19, 1890: Brooklyn plays its first game in the National League, a 15-9 loss to the Boston Beaneaters, and went on to capture the National League pennant.
April 28, 1890: The Bridegrooms beat Boston, 5-2, in front of 1,222 fans at Washington Park, the first National League game in Brooklyn.
I just about died laughing when I read what Boston's team was named.

brooklyn robins (1914-31), but they were the dodger before that as well (1911-12) and the Brooklyn Superbas prior to that.
