First of all, you should really not upgrade. That is, unless you absolutely need WinXP for a hardware device or program. If you DO need XP, then my advice is to completely wipe the hard drive clean, and start anew. That's because many adverse issues occur if one upgrades to XP from any other Windows OS. But, the worst part of this answer, it can't be free, unless you steal a copy of XP. WinXP requires registration either online or over the phone within 30 days of activation. So, just installing a friend's disk won't help you at all. If you try that, it won't work after 30 days. It knows that it's registered to a different machine. Each copy of WinXP registers itself according to the specific motherboard on which it's installed. So, the answer is: you can't without stealing a new copy of XP. Sure, there might be ways to get around the registration problem, but no matter what you're doing in the attempt to get XP for free, it's against the law, and also it will most likely not work well for your computer anyway.

Honestly I suggest you buy the Windows Xp software. It is possible to install it illegaly but that will only cause you problems in the future. Another way is if that a friend of yours has bought the upgrade cd and is willingly to lend it to you. If you want to go ahead and install it illegally go ahead, it will work but be carefull.

Upgrading WMP 9.0 gained't help. WMP actually is a media report participant yet no longer a decoder for DVD's. i imagine you need to purchase a clean decoder because it may comprise a warranty. you need to also improve your OS to homestead windows XP specialist because that is a lot more effective than 2000.also you are able to improve to WMP 11.0 which could extremely be accessible at acquire, com
