Naaaaah.....I got it too, don't think it's a virus. Probably someone thought it was a good idea to tell everyone it was a virus so everybody could pass his/her chain e-mail to everybody else.
You can read here: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/l/lifeisbeautfiul.htm
[Edit] Oi, people! This is not a real virus! It's a hoax. Please read the article (link above). Apparently this e-mail has been around since 2002.

Before you start scaring others, get your facts right first.........
Life is beautiful virus hoax:
The hoax was spread through the Internet in January 2006. It told of a virus attached to an e-mail, which was spread around the Internet. The attached file was supposedly called:
Life is beautiful.pps
It is said that this hoax was created as a protest against Microsoft Corp. to make the .pps file extension more universal. The e-mail said:
" URGENT! VIRUS! This information arrived this morning, from Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who accesses the Internet. You may receive an apparently harmless email with a PowerPoint presentation called "Life is beautiful.pps." If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately. If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful", subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, email and password. This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. WE NEED TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STOP THIS VIRUS. UOL has already confirmed its dangerousness, and the antivirus Softs are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner", and who aims to destroying domestic PCs and who also fights Microsoft in court! That’s why it comes disguised with extension pps. He fights in court for the Windows-XP patent. MAKE A COPY OF THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS."
The message was unconfirmed and later classified as a hoax.
Read up on things first..................

It is a very old virus hoax. First discovered January of 2002.
Neither Norton or Microsoft will issue a warning like you received.
If it is a real threat Norton will just update their virus database to prevent it and Microsoft will ignore it.
When you forward hoaxes like this it just takes up bandwidth on the internet and helps to propagate it.

This hoax was first circulated in Portuguese. English, French, Italian and German versions have also been recorded.

If you receive an email reporting a new virus and you are uncertain about it, go to the web site of any of the larger Anti-Virus Software giants (i.e. www.mcafee.com) and check their library of known virus identities. Over the past several years I have had colleagues panicking about a virus, forwarding the email on to all the people in their address book but when I've checked I have discovered that it is a "Hoax" email designed to flood the internet with worthless mail in an attempt to bring it to a grinding halt.

Do not forward the email. Microsoft and Norton do not send virus warnings out by email.
This is a spam message which was intended to spread itself like a virus.

This is a HOAX which first appeared in January 2002.
It re-emerged again on Wednesday April 6, 2005 and now it seems to be making the email rounds again.
Symantec Security Response encourages you to ignore any messages regarding this hoax. It is harmless and is intended only to cause unwarranted concern. Please ignore any messages regarding this hoax and do not pass on messages.
Passing on messages about the hoax only serves to further propagate it.

Deja vu? (Check the link.)
This baby's still out in the wild after all these years? Gorgeous. It might even outlive HIV or cancer.
Anyway, as a general rule of thumb: if you receive something in the mail that seems out of the ordinary, quarantine it. A file is harmless until it is executed or opened.

I never look at e-mails with attachments if I don't know the person. MailWasher Pro removes them straight from the server.
Especially those designed to look like Microsoft or PayPal.
