A lot depends on the species, age, and present condition of the tree. Without more information, no one on this site can give you a definitive answer.

It depends on many things; how well established the tree is, how old it is, is it in the proper environment that would be good for it(sun, shade, water, decent soil) whether its in the right zone for growth.. Then how much damage you have done and with what, how deep how far around the tree and what else you may have done. Many of these questions need to be answered before i can even attempt to diagnose what is going to happen. What kiind fo tree are we talking about?"

It's not 'your' tree, it's your parent's tree. Don't continue to be an embarrassment to your poor-parents. Haven't you burdened them enough with your juvenile pranks.
