This is why gangsta rap sells. If you are from the hood, you always know of the big time gangstas in ya hood and what they do. When you grow up poor and nobody gives a damn about you, you just live around your element and try to survive. Most gangstas in the hood show a kind of untouchable mentality. Like nobody can mess with them. We see that they made something for themselves from the same environment that we lived. When you hear something on the radio that's gangsta, you will listen. It's like if you heard a rock group from a middle-class neighborhood talk about the struggles growing up, then the people would buy it. The same with gangsta music. It talks about the things that alot of people living poverty have experienced. It gives the people a voice that nobody heard before. It tells our story!!!!

People are getting dumber and more lazy by the year.
Rap is a very guttural and has nowhere to go but up-since its on the bottom of anybody list who can actually think. Nothing is more sickening than seeing a carload of 'whiteboys' listening to this CRAP! You know in 95 percent of the cases these kids really have absolutely NOTHING to complain about! And all this gangsta junk--makes these kids with no identity of their own-feel like they are tough! PATHETIC!!

Because white boys who live in the suburbs who grew up in protected environments sheltered by their soccer moms, know they are really soft and know that deep down in the back of their minds, that the really hard guys are the black guys in the hood, so they compensate by listening to this stuff, that makes them feel a little bit tougher. Its one of the consequences of prosperity, you grow up having too much living in comfort. Black guys like it cuz its their type of music.

Footnote - anyone who has served in Iraq gets an exemption from this, because they really are in a war zone, kind of like the hood.

One other reason is because all other musical styles have been exhausted. I mean, what else can possibly be invented that hasnt been done, theres no sound out there that would suprise me at this point.

cos people buy it

hahaha

that was my impression of an idiot, did you like it?

i dont know!

the labels somehow manage to create a hype around those talentless losers, people buy into it and the rest is history!

some songs do have killer beats, but as for talent and lyrical content, they have no idea what that means

Tupac died making music he loved, his music had soul!! and these idiots are just defecating on his hard work and his memory!!

its sad!!

because, some people have a twisted idea of what music is. in my opinion, someone talking while people clap in the backround is not music, its just someone talking while people clap in the backround.
