by washing it in hot water so many times or drying your shirt so high that eventually it will strink to a smaller size

Unless the shirt is 100 percent cotton, it probably won't shrink much no matter how many times you wash in hot water and dry it at a high heat. If all else fails, you might try taking it to a dry cleaner that makes alterations.

Controlling how much something would shrink would be difficult, if not impossible. Washing in hot water, then drying in a dryer will shrink some materials, but some will not shrink no mater what you do to it.

Maybe you could get a seamstress to take in the seams. That works with men's jackets and pants so it sounds worthwhile for a ladies' shirt.

I think that shrinking by washing and drying is just going to get it out of shape. it will not shrink evenly and will be so misshapen when you are done that it will no longer be your favorite.

small and large are to much of a differance size... you could try washing it then throwing it into the dryer on very high heat. that may shrink it good luck

Most cotton shrinks in the washer, and "sets" in the dryer. Try washing and drying on the hottest temperature available.

Depending on the fabric and the color - I've had the best luck with boiling - because the hotter the water the smaller it will get - with cotton anyway - and then pop it in the drier. But be careful! The boiling may fade away color!

well, if it is 100% cotton, it will shrink itself when you put it into the wash. but otherwise, im not sure you can shrink a shirt.

if its 100% cotton, its sure that it will shrink no matter what. just leave it in the drier for a long time.

Toss it in the dryer for 60 minutes on high heat.
