Well SIs, i sure as hell wish some celebrity would promote SIDS, as it kills 3 babies a week, as you know about your nephew. One day I am going to start a foundation in Hunters name to help find a cause as to why our babies were taken too soon....

I don't think it's always about gaining recognition for your good deeds. People focus on one organization because they can take up a lot of time and energy. Most folks figure they can do better work by focusing their attention on one cause instead of spreading it out over many. That's not to say that you cann't be a full fledged member of the American Lung Association and then not donate money to the ASPCA and the Salvation Army. But in big event planning and fund-raising, try to go out and ask for money for one cause then come back next week asking for more for another. It just doesn't work well.

I would probably pick a few different ones - but I would be the spokesperson because the odds are that more people would give money for the cause just because my name was attatched to it.

I would give to many different charities and instead of telling people which charities to donate to, I would tell them to find one they like and donate as much as possible.

no i wouldnt because it wouldnt let the other charities be known and other people in the other charities would suffer from lack of donations to that charity since no one would know about it.

Yes I would. To Scottish Right Hospital in Dallas, for how they helped my son,( and my whole family , for that matter ), but I would do it anonymously. I wouldn't want my name up anywhere, for exactly the reasons you have above.
Notoriety, or trying to outdo someone else.

No. There are many good charities, and I like more than one of them.
