okay to start off. everything changes in middle school. girls are mean. guys become extremelyyy cute. homework gets tonss harder.

you really need to just be yourself, and talk to people!
don't change yourself completely to be popular. (trust me, tons of girls would do anything to be popular).

I'm really shy also, but to meet new friends you have to speak up. just start with a simply "hey" or "what's up" and introduce yourself. soon, you'll be talking to them a lot and they might become one of your bestfriends! :)

hope this helps!
good lucky with middle school, sweetie

I was very shy, too. I still am to an extent. Like everyone says, be yourself. If you start off being fake, you won't be able to keep it up so everyone will find out at some point. Maybe you could join a club or after school activity so you will be around people with common interests, that way you will have something to start up a conversation about. In class, look for other shy students. They are less intimidating to approach. Most friendships begin with a simple smile and "hi." Good luck!

Hey!
I started Middle School last year. I'm in 7th grade. it's a big change and it's hard. Escpecially witht the wild 8th graders!!
Just stick with your values, be yourself, and try not to let other kids influence you too much. Your personality will change, but don't let it change too fast!
6th grade was the best year of my life so far. I had a blast. Everything is so different! Just enjoy it, and have a good time! :-)
(Try to be a little more outgoing! You'll make more friends, and throughout middle school you want to have a ton of girlies to hang with!)

I was pretty shy in the begining of middle school too. Ah i remember those days...anyway just be yourself and talk about things that apply to everyone like teachers classes homework that kind of stuff. Believe me you'll feel a lot better about yourself instead of being in the corner all the time. Don't overdue it just be yourself.

Middle school is hard. But u should try to get to no some of the people and become their friends if u have friends it'll be much easier. if that doesnt work, and people reject yu (which might happn...) just be nice to them. dont shove them aside or give up on them. school just started, so its gonna take some time. dont expect them to be freindly right away. some poeple put up those type of barriers by being mean b/c they are shy too, and dont want to be hurt. just give a friendly face and smile, and yu shud be fine.

I completely understand. I am also very shy and it is hard for me to make new friends. You should just be yourself and try and find someone who seems nice to talk to, and try to find a common ground with them. Ask them questions that require them to talk more (not yes/no questions). Once you put yourself out there, people will be more likely to talk to you. And don't worry, I'm sure plenty of other people in school are just as nervous as you.

well, dont dress up, dress down. Like casually, giveing the people a sense that your down to earth and easy to talk to. You will make more friends. People are all going to be nervous, so start a conversation, but not in class, im sure people are feeling the same way you are:) Good Luck!

ok sis, middle school is just like a smaller preview of high school. haha. well not really. there are different people, different groups, different personalities. everyone is different in their own way.
dont be shy! just be youself. im sure there are others who will like you forwho you are and enjoy your company. try to speak to your classmates. you can get friends in no time.
actaully, im kinda like you. at first im really shy, and it took time to make friends. but once you yourself into talking to others, you can make friends. just try to be confortable first. dont stay too quiet too long, you can get used to it and become the quite one or the loner. so just open up even though you are shy. be yourself and dont try to be like anyone else.

don't be afraid of people! shy doesn't have to mean you won't talk to people, and you don't have to be scared (everyone's going through the same school environment change & other changes just like you). start a conversation with someone in one of your classes about anything - class, family, friends, people, whatever. you might find common ground with someone and a new friendship if you just try, and then you won't feel so awkward.
