Going to a housewarming party for my friend and her fella. I'm sure everyone else will take wine or alcohol of some kind. How can I be original?

best housewarming gift I got when I was young and setting house up for the first time with my new husband was a mop and bucket the bucket was filled with all kinds of cleaning stuff...
cleaning products are very expensive and I loved that the gift was to my husband and I...... honestly one of those really expensive things when you are setting up a new home is all the cleaning products...
but then that was me...
you could give them a herb garden kit... seeds and potting mix and nice sized planter to grow them in... that way they get to remember your gft every time they eat the herbs... If you want to go one step further you could add a nice herb and spice rack to the gift.
take a bottle of something you know they really enjoy as well as your gift... hmm perpas some drambuie... nice drop that...
you could take a nice set of wine glasses to drink all that wine from...
you could give them a nice massage set... oils, oil burner, candles, and massage roller etc....
seriously think about these two people.... and what they are interested in... and make the gift appropriate to them as people...

I'm sure your friend needs more than liquor in their new home. How about a plant, towels, linens, a wok, a basket of bath items, a decorative mirror, an electric frypan, a coffee maker and mugs?

yeah you want to stand out from everyone else so you should buy them something from the heart but classic at the same time something for there bed room

buy some plastic containers and cook their favorite food, put it in containers [for freezing] and give it to her
home made cookies or their favorite snack for mid night snacks
give them address labels with their new address

set of towels for the bathroom, lamp for the living room, picture for the wall, picture frames (w/ that person in it), festive decor.

bring one of those popcorn baskets with the popcorn in the bottom, and fill it with movie goodies and a VHS.
