a lot of the coutries in europe still have royal families they just aren't as well known as the british royal family, and they dont' really have power they are just more figure heads than anything... off the top of my head i can think of families in norway, sweden, england, spain, greece(only they were exiled), denmark, etc... there are also still royal families in some asian countries such as cambodia. look it up on the internet you'll be surprised how many royal families are still out there.

There are many, many royal families but most do not still reign. The would-be king of Italy still has a title and has been arrested on some serious criminal charges this year. The former king of Bulgaria was elected PM of his country, and the would-be king of Austro-Hungary was a member of the European parliament.
According to wikipedia there are 29 monarchies, and a further 16 countries like Canada and Australia which recognise the Queen of the United Kingdon as head of state. However you can exclude the Vatican and Andorra from their list, as they do not have 'royal families'. That makes 27 reigning royal families.

Far too many. They are lucky they weren't exterminated. Royal families are found in many European Countries even in places that don't have a monarchy anymore. Their is also an association for the Holy Roman Emperor even though the title has fallen into disuse. Japan and Thailand have monarchs as do many African nations. The middle East also boasts quite a few in Abu Dabi and Dubai.

Well, I am not exactly sure but Japan, England, Sweden, Denmark, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia all have royal families still in power. There still is a Romanov line out there somewhere and probably countless others

I dont know how many their are, i can only really talk about 2 of them, the Japanese dynasty and my monarch, Queen Elizabeth II
The Japanese royal family, with an Emperor who sits upon the Crysantheum Throne, is the longest running bloodline in mankinds history, with out 2000 years and 198 generations of Monarchs to their name. Its a fascinating History.
Then my Queen, Lizzy. I dont mind the royals, as long as i dont have to keep them..i think its nice to have a head of state thats separate from the politics of Government however..and i think she can be seen as a figure head for us abroad...meh, i dont mind her
