I have a couch in the center of my living room. I have wood floors, I believe they are original to the house built in the 1700's. My problem is the couch keeps sliding back. Is there anything I can put under the legs to stop it?

There is a bay of products in the hardware section of Lowe's stores that will take care of your problem. You are looking for "furniture rests". There are many different types and sizes. You want the type with a rubber bottom. They will be available in several sizes, so measure the bottom of the leg so you get the right size. Home Depot will have similar products. WalMart and other retailers will have a much smaller selection of them than the home improvement retailers.

Good luck with your problem.

You can buy shelf liner material, the rubbery kind of stuff that is non-slip, and cut shapes to fit the botton of your couch legs. We use it on our slippery table to keep dishes from sliding and used it our floor to keep a young puppy from slipping.

any hardware store or furniture store should have small rubber cups made just for putting under the legs of furniture to keep it from slipping.
