According to my physics book, only if someone is there to hear it. I'm not sure what I think of this idea, but here's their reasoning: Sound is caused by sort of "clumps" of air. When these "clumps" hit an eardrum, they are translated as sound. If something happens, like a Stealth Bomber crashing, and no one hears it, there are still "clumps" of air, but they are never translated to sound, since they never hit an eardrum.

If a goofy blonde who asks dumb questions is molested by a street mime, does anybody care?

stealth bombers aren't especially quiet, they're merely hard to spot by radar.
