Any separation method based on differences in density will work. This would include either pneumatic or hydraulic suspension, cyclone separators, or shaker tables.

Put the mixture into water. The sawdust will float on top of the water and the sand will sink to the bottom. Then simply dip off the sawdust, pour off the water and retrieve the sand from the bottom of the vessel.

Put it in water - the sand should sink and the sawdust should float. Then skim the sawdust off the top.

look at the physical and chemical properties of both and find a way to exploit the diffrences. Obiously physically they might be similar but there has to be some way chemically which could distinguise thm from each other.

Hint Hint, sawdust floats...sand it at the bottom of the ocean.
