I felt sick to my stomach when I heard that...It was like a family meber had passed or Princess Diana!!
So sad, we lots a good mate in Steve. i think thoughts and prayers around the world are going out to his memeory and family!!

It was shocking. My 11 yr old daughter, who by the way loves animals and thought that Steve Irwin was the coolest said that she was so sad that she felt like crying. Terrible tragedy and my sympathies go out to his family.

Yes he died and he will be missed. He was a great guy, loving husband and father and was gifted to do all that he did with the animals. My children and I used to sit together and watch his show. I hope that they continue to show them and his wife carries on what he loved doing.

At least he didn't get eaten by a crocodile.....what in the hell was he doing swimming in the Great Barrier reef with them damn khaki shorts and hiking boots on anyway...what was he thinking!! He scared the hell out of that stingray!!!

It is really too sad. Why can't some other poor fool who makes no meaningful contribution to society and wildlife die instead. I am heart broken.

OMG! Can you believe he lived as long as he did?
I cannot - for the life of me - understand how people view this man's death as a surprise. It's a shame he placed his career in front of his family.

In some ways it was good that he died from an animal.. i said in some wayS!
his life was all about animals and his love for them.. so it was sortof sweet if u think about it..
but then its messed up

I know, it's so sad because he was a husband and dad. But he died doing what he loved.

I know I know its is so sad but he lived a rich and adventurous life, and he was doing what he loved I feel so bad for his family
