For me... it has been excellent.
The pilot took my breath away. The destruction of Caprica...the relationship between Adama...his crew...his son...and Starbuck....the crowning of the new president and the terrible decisions she is forced to make on her first day in office...watching Starbuck and Apollo in the vipers doing what no other pilots can do to safeguard the fleet...and ofcourse the Cylons...Six in particular.
Breathtaking. I told myself that after that awesome opener...I would follow the series wherever it lead...that even if it went completelydownhill from there...they had already given me spectacle and amazing storytelling. I just did not expect them to take the ball and run with it.
Galactica has a story to tell...and 99% of the story told so far has been stunning...a stellar achievement in sci fi programming.
I love the old series and the new. I haveno problem...let me say that again...NO Problem...with Starbuck as female...
She is not the most talented and is probably the least...but as I watch her I keep forgetting... for longer and longer stretches...that I am watxching an actor in a role...and get totally sucked into Starbuck as the premier pilot in the fleet...whose home lies with her butt plastered to the seat of her viper...pulling g's...and annihilating enemies from her sky.
The actress gives one hundred and ten percent in the role..which means everyone else is performing above and beyond the call of duty.
Battlestar Galactica is totally enjoyable for me. Each season has outdone the one that came before...outstripping it with complexity
of story...and incredible performances from its cast.
Baylon 5...then Farscape...and now Battlestar...
It has been a good time for sci fi. Hope this helps.

Caprica is an upcoming television series described as "television's first science fiction family saga," based on the fictional universe of Battlestar Galactica and set on the fictional planet Caprica, around fifty years before the events depicted in the 2004 re-imagined series. It will tell the story of how the Cylons are researched and built, ultimately leading to the Cylon War. It will revolve around two families, the Adamas and the Graystones.

The original show was pretty good for its time, but the new version is one of the best things on tv now. It has great acting, interesting and fairly unpredictable plots and good special effects. It also deals with moral and religious themes most other tv shows never tough upon.

I was more fond of the old one. I'm not real impressed with the newest version. I watch it often though because it's link the same time with sg1,atlantis, then galactica. I like the first 2 alot.

It's better than the original series was but it takes some watching to figure out whats going on.

It is real good if you like the stories like star Wars and Lost in Space.

i was a big fan of the original "battlestar:galactica" i Cannot figure out the new one at all !! it makes NO sense to me.. i had thought the space channel would be showing the old episodes.. i really really miss the old show

Are you talking about the new series or the old one? Both are good. The new one that is on sci fi is great, I TiVo it and watch it all the time.

It's ok if you you like old sci fi.
Farscape is better. Star Wars is the best

The original was fun for kids. The new one is much more darker and machiavellian, but still good if you can keep up with it.

I don't really care for the new one. Not enough action. I like Stargate.
