Alcohol causes extreme dehydration. It seeks and absorbs water. Vomitting, sweating, and excessive excersize that may occur while drunk increases this even more.

A wise wo/man would drink several glasses of water before passing out.

Alcohol is a diuretic, it literally sucks the water out of your brain cells and even kills some of them. However, if you hydrate yourself the entire time you are drinking then most of the time you won't have a hangover at all, however watch out drinking a lot of water the next day... at that point the alcohol remaining in your system will rush back into your system making you feel drunk again.

It depends upon what they are drinking. Some drinks, including Beer act like a diuretic. Coffee will do the same thing

Actually you are dehydrated the night before, you just didn't know it. Alcohol whether in beer or whatever is dehydrating...chase it with a lot of water.
