First you vote for the war. Send our troops thier to fight with the same intellegence the president had. Then things dont turn out so well. Run Forrest, Now all you can do is bash the president and say end the war and its Bush's fault.. Hello you voted for it to the only thing is you would have our troops leave and the people who died would have died for nothing... Make up your minds. Can a liberal vote for something and stick with thier choice or without taking a poll. Is it not true that our troops are still in Bosnia, Thank you Mr Clitoris... I mean Clinton

Hey. Look at that second answer. Typically Liberal. Ask a actual question and you'll be answered by an irrelevant, and non-foundational retort.
To them it's all about 'feelings". It's possible that before I get this posted, some Liberal will probably answer (sic):well, don't you agree it's better not to be at war..don't you want the soldiers home?
Yes, of course we don't want our people at war. However, I had a great Teacher in College, those many years ago who used to like to point out "I'm not talking about what ought to be, I'm talking about what is".
Liberals want to take "what ought to be" and force it into being "what is". It doesn't work that way, no matter how they spin the polls. One of the things that many years ago shaped me into becoming a Conservative, was when I realized that Liberals would say anything regardless of its veracity, and insist that it was true to get their point across. As Rush Limbaugh says (sic): "they think they can change the world just by thinking it and that is their greatest danger".
I know it's frustrating. Hang in there!!

Many liberals in Congress state that they voted for the war, but are against the war plan and how it is being carried out. Why do Republicans only think in black and white?

It's like when Kerry said he was for this one piece of legislation that said that kids under a certain age should have to notify their parents prior to an abortion. He then voted against it. The neocons jumped on that...flip flopper...the truth is, he voted against it because there was no clause in the bill that protected kids who were sexually abused by a parent, and who ended up pregnant by that parent, guardian, whoever. He wanted to make sure that those kids were protected, so he didn't vote for it until a solution was made.

All you neocons can't think beyond your noses, that's why we are in the trouble we are in. Go to war, you all cry...like a battle is going to fix the problem of terrorism...you didn't think it all through and now want to chastize thinking people who don't necessarily see it your way.

Um, excuse me? Liberals like us were against the war from the very outset. We knew the president was not only lying, but was wrong about how the war would be carried out & how it would be turning out. Lo and behold we were right! Why were we right? Because liberals actually look at a situation before deciding what to do. Conservatives apply their pre-conceived ideas to every situation -- they decide to do something before they even know what the situation is: "Shoot first, ask questions later." So we were right and now we're letting you guys know just how wrong you were and how you should fix it. But of course you won't listen, because you have your pre-conceived ideas.

On the off chance that you actually are open to looking at the facts....

How is there any similarity between (1) the decision to go over, depose Saddam and check for WMDs, and (2) the decision to stay there for years after "Mission Accomplished" to build a new country?

These are entirely different situations, with entirely missions, with entirely different cost-benefit analysis, requiring entirely different resources and strategies.

So, why is it so hard to think that people might come to different conclusions in these two entirely different situations.

Well, first of all, the vote was not based on "the same intelligence the president had."

The Congress, and even the subcommittee, does not get PDB (presidential daily briefings). Whereas most members of Congress did not see a full assessment of the Iraqi threat prior to the delivery of the National Intelligence Estimate, the president and his aides received daily intelligence briefings on Iraq throughout 2002.

And why is it considered "not making up our minds" to realize that the so-called war on terror in Iraq is a failure, and to work on ways to extricate us from this horrible situation?

Voting for something with proper intel and voting for something that is a lie is 2 different things.

Besides, the people didn't vote for war. The politicians did.
