Check out the Haunted Oddessy books by Jim Longo. There are three of them and they have lots of stuff about the bi-state area. They are: "Haunted Oddessy", "Ghosts Along the Mississippi", and "Favorite Haunts".

Read the stuff about the Lemp Mansion.

I also have a book called "Spirits of St. Louis: A Ghostly Guide to the Mound City's Unearthly Activities" by Robbi Courtaway and a series called "Ghosts of the Mississippi River" by Bruce Carlson that has a book of stories from the section between Keokuk, IA and St. Louis.

Start with the Local Interest section at Barnes & Noble or Borders. Also check out some of the smaller independent book stores. I've found lots of stuff at both places.

You can also see some stories at these websites:

yup the Excorcist is based off events that happened at the university of Saint Louis I think that's what my mom said. But yeah Spirits of Saint Louis is a good book.

Interesting question. I recommend visiting a book store (small, like a mom n pop first). Then maybe visit a large store like Waldenbooks etc. There has to be many, being next to the Mississippi River.

The Lemp Mansion is supposedly haunted. I'm sure you can find some information on that.
