Along with the other answers, sometimes heat will help your pain, although it may make your period flow more. Exercise does help as the other answers tell you above.

This may sound disgusting but it works.
Boil some water.
Put some honey and cinnamon powder in a cup.
Fill with the water.
Stir and drink.
Also, lie on your stomach or in the fetal position.
Exercise lightly. Like go for a walk.
Read a book.
Try and get your mind off of it by doing things like chilling out, watching a movie, listening to music, answering questions, talking on the phone, ect...

I find using heat helps alleviate menstrual cramps. A great product on the market is Therma-Care. They are adhesive patches you can put directly on your lower stomach, heat up and last for 8 hours. Good luck!

Do some exercise, then lie on the sofa in which ever way is comfy, with a hotwater bottle, and a good movie to distract you.

I believe that it you lie flat with a hot water bottle on your abdomen or where the cramps are worst then it helps to soothe them.

keep away from salty foods about a week before your period, also try herbal teas, a hot water bottle on your stomach and some essential oil, peppermint is good
