I may be a bit older then you, but I think they have been hating non-Muslims ever since the crusades. As for America personally, they have been hating us for at least 20-30 years, going all the way back the the Marine barracks attack 20 or so years ago. You also can't forget about the USS Cole and the 1993 WTC bombings. I think that is what the President was refering too.
