I don't have any friends who have placed in your area of California. Honestly what most women do is take out their local phone book and make calls to all the agencies in the phone book to see which agencies treat them with respect and answer their questions honestly. Always call multiple agencies because agencies differ so much and you need to compare to see which ones will treat you with respect and honor whatever particular concerns you might have in relation to the adoption. Openadoption.org has a checklist on their website that you can use to help you evaluate the different responses you receive from the agencies you call so that you can compare them. The advantages of going through an agency vs a private adoption lawyer is that you almost always get better pre & post adoption support from an agency. Also agencies usually (but not always) ensure their adoptive parents have more education about open adoption and raising a child who is adopted. Good Luck!

I know a great couple that would love to adopt a baby. Are you looking for private adoption or through an agency.
