At a recent dinner program that I sponsored, the Speaker and I were working at the computer to load the slide deck. He gently said to me, "Not the porn, that's for you and me to watch tonight." He and I have been flirting off and on for months now, so go figure. What was that all about? What exactly did he mean by that? How was I supposed to answer?

It was a joke. You said that you and him have been flirting for quite some time. Maybe he wants to take it one level higher.

I don't know but that was pretty funny. I am glad to see that you did not try and get him fired over it too....

Flirting is flirting...it makes for a fun work environment as long as their are boundaries drawn. If you do feel uncomfortable, let him know in a way that is non judgmental and friendly... if you are contemplating something more than you need to have a much more serious talk!!

It was his way of making a joke (or so he could claim) and hope that you took it serious. Kinda stupid and would only work if you and he were at least friends all ready.

You have several options:

Play with it and see where it goes.

Ignore it.

Tell him it was not appropriate.

If you are flirting, this was his suggestion to take it to the NEXT level. If you are not wanting that then tell him flat out this is just flirting and NOTHING MORE!
